creamy baked broccoli


1 bag of fresh or frozen steam-in-a-bag broccoli

1/2 white onion, chopped

5-6 slices of bacon

3/4 cup of half and half

1 tbsp of butter

1 cup of white cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup of mozzarella cheese, shredded

Garlic Powder

Salt and pepper


Preheat oven to 400. Over medium heat on the stove, cook bacon. While it cooks, steam broccoli in the microwave, according to the package. Once finished, put into a baking dish and set aside. When the bacon is cooked, take it out of pan, leaving the bacon fat, and add onions and butter. Cook onions for about 3 minutes, then add half and half and white cheddar cheese. Bring to a slight boil and whisk until the cheese is melted and the mixture has reached your desired thickness. Season to your taste with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Crumble the cooled bacon and mix with broccoli. Pour the cheese mixture over the broccoli and bacon, and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes, then broil on high for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is slightly brown and bubbly. Serve warm. Enjoy!
