1/2 box of dry ziti pasta (or another pasta of your choice)
1/2 lb of ground turkey
1/2 lb of ground pork
1/2 small white onion, diced
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 of a 28oz can of crushed tomatos
1 jar of your favorite pasta sauce
1-1/2 cups of mozzarella cheese
Red Pepper Flakes
Salt and Pepper
Preheat oven to 400. In a large sauce pan, begin to boil salted water for pasta. In another pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and add onions and garlic. Let cook together for about 2 minutes. Then, add ground turkey and ground pork. Once meat is cooked through, add crushed tomatoes, pasta sauce, and season to your taste with salt, pepper, italian seasoning, cayenne, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes. Let simmer for at least 10 minutes. While simmering, cook pasta noodles in boiling water for about 7 minutes - they will finish cooking in the oven with the sauce. Drain pasta and mix with pasta sauce. Add about 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese to the mix, and pour into baking dish. Put remaining cheese, or however much cheese you desire on top of pasta. Bake uncovered in the oven for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and bubbles. Enjoy!
*Note: You can make this is spicy (or as not) as you want! I add a little hot sauce to the pasta to make it a little spicier.
