about the curlie cook

Hi! I'm Dresden; a 26 year old, curly haired, young professional, currently living in raleigh. By day, I work in financial services and I love it! But, everyone needs a hobby and stress reliever, right? For me, it's cooking! I've had so much fun creating recipes in my kitchen and sharing them on social media, that I decided to create this site.

I learned everything I know about food & cooking from my Grandma Ethel, Mom, Dad, and Food Network (seriously, my TV stays on this channel). My Grandma Ethel taught me to put love into my food, because she always did. My Mom has taught me healthier ways to make the unhealthy foods I love. My Dad taught me to take my time when I'm cooking (this was when I tried to cook bacon on high heat because, hungry). Food Network gave me ideas, taught me tricks and tips, and inspired me.

Good food is the way to my heart. Nothing satisfies me more than a great conversation over a great meal! like most millennials, brunch is my favorite meal of the weekend ( and its not brunch if the mimosas aren't bottomless). i wouldn’t consider myself much of a picky eater; I'll try anything once. The most interesting foods I've tried to date are fried alligator (tastes like chicken) and octopus (never again). Traveling is a favorite of mine as well! My favorite city to eat in is New Orleans. If you haven't been, go book a flight right now. Seriously, you'll never regret it!

My goal when creating recipes is to make my food simple, easy, and comforting. Whether you're just learning how to cook or have been cooking for years, you've come to the right place! I hope you find my recipes helpful and enjoy them as much as I do.

Hopefully, these recipes will help you feed your soul.
